The 2010 Schedule of Events
EquiFest is a festival of horses with fun for the whole family! The main arena showcases the amazing variety of horses and horse activities you’ll find in the area. The Kiddie Corral and Vendor Fair are open all day, and you’ll find experts on hand to answer your questions about horse health and nutrition. Wholesome food will be available on site, and we have a free shuttle to/from downtown Madison. Admission and parking are free.
Kiddie Corral
What child can resist hand painting – especially when asked to help create a live Painted Pony! This is just one of the delightful activities you’ll find at EquiFest 2010 – a celebration of rural life. New this year is Farmville, a special place just for toddlers. In the education center, kids will learn about horses and other farm animals. In our craft center, they can paint horse shoes and build a stick pony. Free pony rides throughout the day. Bring your child to EquiFest 2010 and create a memory they’ll never forget.
Arena
The action in the main arena at EquiFest 2010 will be non-stop. From the opening ceremony lead by the Silver Creek Sparklers drill team to the last Parade of Breeds, you’ll be amazed and delighted by the variety of things local horse people do with their horses. Compare the agility of western Reigning horses to the elegance of english Dressage horses. Watch as both minis and draft horses demonstrate their skills at driving. Enjoy trick roping demonstrations, and admire the beautiful costumed riders. There’s something for everyone in the main arena at EquiFest 2010.
Parade of Breeds
Local breeders will be on hand to showcase the incredible variety of horse breeds in the greater Madison and Lake Country area. From A (Arabian and Apaloosa) to P (Paint, Percheron and Peruvian Paso) – there’s a type of horse for every function and style. We’ll even have rare breeds on display, like the Nokota – a heritage breed from the American west. You’ll see these horses on display in the area, plus have an opportunity to visit with the horses and their breeders back in the barns between performances. Learn more about your dream horse at EquiFest 2010.
